'Tis the season for a holiday portrait with your hound

'Tis the season for giving and with so many worthy causes, it's difficult to choose. Why not combine your love of animals with a holiday portrait of your favorite four-legged pal? Here are some upcoming dog-friendly holiday events to shop, play, mix, mingle, get a holiday portrait and give back -- all at the same time!

Pet Photos with Santa at Dooley's Dog House, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 1421 Market St., Kirkland. Bring your companion(s) in for a holiday photo and lots of fun. Holiday Passport to 2200, Dec. 5, 6 and 7, noon-6 p.m., South Lake Union. Come celebrate the holidays with your pooch in South Lake Union. Benefitting the Seattle Humane Society, the shops at 2200 will come alive with festive holiday music, tasty food and beverage samples, and holiday-themed photos for pets and their people with renowned Seattle pet photographer Bev Sparks (noon-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday). 2009 CityDogs Calendar Sneak Peek: May

Meet Jessie Mei, our calendar girl for the month of May. Jessie was also our very first cover dog model search winner, gracing the Spring 2007 cover of CityDog Magazine.

Drumroll, please...The winner of our 2008 cover dog model search is Cohen! It was a tight race, but Cohen came out on top of the pack, with a slight lead over his fellow cover dog competitors: Django, Jasper, Ritmo and Finnigan (see below). Alas, there can only be one winner, but because we think all dogs are cover dogs, we're including all of the contestants in the winter issue of CityDog Magazine -- all 450 of them!
