Pasado's Safe Haven Offers $5,000 Reward in Dog Poisonings

Susan Michaels, co-founder of Pasado's Safe Haven, was kind enough to give CityDog an update on the potential dog poisonings in West Seattle. She indicated that reports of poisonings started as early as January 13th and that after thorough research, Pasado's has decided to offer a $5,000 reward.

Two reports are most concerning. First, a dog became ill after walking with its owner in Fauntleroy Park. Pasado's is waiting for the vet's report on the dog's stomach contents to determine whether the cause was poison or not.

Then Mo happened. Mo was rescued by Pasado's in New Orleans after he’d gone 14 days without food or water. Fortunately, after being nursed back to health, he was adopted by a Pasado's Katrina volunteer. Now it looks like Mo may be a victim of poison. Mo's owner suspects he may have ingested the poison at the Westcrest off-leash park, but it is not clear how. To read more of Mo's story, click here.

Michals says Pasado's rewards have worked time and time again and that they've received two tips thus far for the West Seattle incidents. Both tips have been turned over to authorities and "One is pretty good," according to Michaels, so "Keep your paws crossed."
